Communities across Canada will be joining in on the Annual Terry Fox Run Sunday Sept. 18. The annual run is hosted on the third Sunday in September, the month which was chosen by Terry fox when he had to stop his marathon of hope and Canadians picked up his mission.

Fox was forced to stop running 42 years ago outside Thunder Bay, Ontario after running for 143 days and 3,339 miles cross country to raise money for cancer research.

Before returning to BC for treatment Fox said, “I’m going to do my very best. I’ll fight, I promise I won’t give up.”

In Wetaskiwin the Terry Fox Run will be held at By-the-Lake Park Sept. 18, starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 1 p.m.

Donations for the Terry Fox Foundation will be accepted on site at the run.
