Thorsby RCMP arrest two males for break and enter and theft of ATM

Following a lengthy investigation conducted by the Thorsby/Breton RCMP, two males have been arrested in relation to several reported break and enters in the Town of Thorsby, Alta.

Following a lengthy investigation conducted by the Thorsby/Breton RCMP, two males have been arrested in relation to several reported break and enters in the Town of Thorsby, Alta.

Thorsby RCMP responded to multiple break and enters including the theft of an ATM from the Esso fuel station in Thorsby on Oct. 6, 2021. Police also investigated an attempted theft of an ATM from the Thorsby Village Supermarket.

On March 29, 2021 Collin McDonald, 30, of Edmonton, Alta., was arrested and charged with:

• Theft of Truck (x2);

• Mischief over $5,000 (x3);

• Break and enter (x3);

• Possession of break in tools (x3);

• Wear a disguise committing an offence;

• And possession of stolen property.

McDonald has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Breton Provincial Court on May 26, 2021.

On April 30, 2021, Travis Stout, 32, of Edmonton, Alta., was arrested and charged with:

• Theft of Truck (x2);

• Mischief over $5,000 (x3);

• Break and enter (x3);

• Possession of break in tools (x3);

• Wear a disguise committing an offence;

• Possession of stolen property;

• And operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.

Stout remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Breton Provincial Court on May 26, 2021.

“As a result of these arrests several outstanding files have now been brought before the courts,” said S/Sgt. Dwayne Moore, Thorsby RCMP Detachment Commander. “We will continue to strategically focus on property crime offenders in keeping with our crime reduction strategies.”
