Thorsby RCMP respond to fatal collision

A car was travelling westbound on Highway 39 when it was struck by a northbound car.

On July 18, at 9p.m., Thorsby RCMP, Fire, and EMS, responded to 911 calls of a two vehicle collision on Highway 39 at Range Road 15 in Leduc County.

The initial investigation determined that a car was travelling westbound on Highway 39 when it was struck by a northbound car.

The driver of the westbound vehicle was deceased on scene and a passenger in the same vehicle was transported to hospital by ground ambulance.

The driver and lone occupant of the northbound vehicle was also transported to hospital.

Thorsby RCMP continue to investigate this collision and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or stopped to render assistance at the scene. They are also asking for dash cam footage on Sunday July 18, 2021,between 8:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.
