Remember to stay safe with increased traffic this long weekend.

The Leduc RCMP are reminding motorists to drive safely this long weekend.

The Labour Day long weekend often sees an increase of traffic on the roads and this has prompted the RCMP to release tips on safe driving tactics.

"Traffic safety is a shared responsibility for both driver and passenger," says Const. Cheri-Lee Smith in a press release.

Motorists should be driving distraction-free and with caution always, but it is especially important with more vehicles on the road. Drivers are encouraged to plan their route ahead of time, obey all speed limits and road signs and to drive according to the road conditions.

Another way to practice safe driving is to be mindful of all types of recreation vehicles on the road this weekend. Finally, the Leduc RCMP would like to remind motorists to never drive while intoxicated or under the influence.
