Wetaskiwin’s Vision Credit Union is having a book sale May 9-13, 2022. All proceeds from the book sale go to a charity in the community, and this spring the Vision Credit Union employees voted for the money to go to the Summer Reading Program at the Wetaskiwin Public Library.
The Summer Reading Program is made up of a variety of free community inclusive programs that run all summer through the library.
Programs include literary scavenger hunts, a reading log with prizes, playing in the park with stories and more.
Lori Pawloske with the Vision Credit Union says that the branch has done similar fundraisers in the past. The book sale is made up of donated books, boardgames and puzzles.
“We get people filtering in every day,” says Pawloske.
“We’d like to see everything gone. We still have lots of children’s books left.”
Pawloske says that they have been pleased with the generosity of the community, both through their donations and support of the book sale.
