Beach goers at Zeiner Park can rejoice as Alberta Health Services (AHS) has officially lifted the water quality advisory that was issued July 1, for the water at Zeiner Park Beach at Pigeon Lake.
A water advisory was previously put in place because of blue-green algae blooms in the area. However, AHS has now deemed that the water has returned to an acceptable level and the health risk is low for those using the beach for recreational purposes.
Although the water advisory has been lifted, visitors and residents are reminded to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any lake or reservoir at any time.
