Wetaskiwin female arrested for stabbing in Sherwood Park

Charges have been laid against 23-year-old Denise Deschamps of Wetaskiwin, Alta., for her involvement in a stabbing assault that took place in Strathcona County.

Charges have been laid against 23-year-old Denise Deschamps of Wetaskiwin, Alta., for her involvement in a stabbing assault that took place in Strathcona County.

The evening of May 14, 2022, Strathcona County RCMP received a report of an assault from the Strathcona County Hospital where two male victims were suffering from stab wounds.

Both victims suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and have been released from hospital.

They sat that they knew Deschamps and were travelling with her on Highway 21 in Sherwood Park when she assaulted them in the vehicle.

Deschamps has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and two counts of disobeying a court order. She was released following a Judicial Interim Release hearing and is expected to appear in court on June 15, 2022.
