The Cod Tongues are performing at the Manluk Centre on Jan. 25.

The Cod Tongues band will be performing at the Manluk Threatre on Jan. 25, starting at 7:30 p.m.

The night just happens to fall on Robbie Burns Day - a Scottish holiday celebrating Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns, that typically includes traditional Scottish foods, poetry recitals and dram.

Everyone is encouraged to come out and celebrate the famous bard by wearing your best tartan, "whether that’s the whole nine yards of a full on kilt or perhaps a just a wee plaid ribbon in your hair," states a press release.

The Manluk Theatre promises the evening will be a "full night of toe-tapping, clapping and singing along to the infectious rhythms of the celts."

The Cod Tongues play two distinct types of music: Celtic east coast and their version of Canadiana, including music from all their favourite Canadian artists.

Tickets and information are available at manluktheatre.ca or Dalcon Visual Arts at 4940 50 St., Wetaskiwin.
