Wetaskiwin Mayor Tyler Gandam will serve a second consecutive term on the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) Board of Directors after being acclaimed Friday Sept. 25, 2020. He was acclaimed at the 2020 AUMA Convention which ran from September 23 to 25 in Calgary, Alta.
Gandam will serve an additional two years on the board and will continue to represent Alberta’s cities with a population up to 500,000.
“Having the opportunity to serve another term as a Director for Cities up to 500,000 is a tremendous opportunity for me to learn through other mayors and councillors from throughout Alberta,” said Mayor Gandam. “I’m also able to better understand and be a part of the work that AUMA does for Alberta municipalities advocating on their behalf—which is a benefit to our City as well.”
The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association has represented Alberta’s cities, towns, villages, summer villages, and specialized municipalities since 1905 and advocates for its members to the provincial and federal governments.
