Wetaskiwin RCMP have arrested three individuals in connection with an armed robbery at a residence in Wetaskiwin on Feb. 6.
The victim told police three suspects entered his home, pointed guns at his head and stole a television, bank cards, identification card, money and a cell phone. Three suspects then left on foot.
The following day, the investigation led Wetaskiwin RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) to a nearby residence. With the assistance of the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), a search warrant was executed, during which two individuals were located and arrested.
Kristen Rain, 39, and Shane Potts, 35, both of Maskwacis, were arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm, two counts of assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
Further investigation led to a second search warrant being executed on Feb. 12.
With the assistance of the RCMP ERT, Wetaskiwin RCMP's GIS and Crime Reduction Unit, the third suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. As a result of the search, RCMP located two imitation firearms that were allegedly used in the robbery.
Derek Feller, 35, of Wetaskiwin, was arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm, two counts of assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
All accused are being held in custody and are scheduled to appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on Feb. 20, 2025.
