Sept. 22, 2020 at 2:16 p.m. the Wetaskiwin RCMP received a call about a capsized vessel on Coal Lake with one person in the water. Wetaskiwin RCMP responded with their boat and were able to rescue the stranded person shortly after getting to the lake.

The male that was in the water only had minor injuries but was suffering from exposure due to cold water. He was immediately returned to shore where a waiting ambulance and the Millet Fire department provided care and was released on scene.

The male was wearing the appropriate life preserver which greatly assisted in his safe return.

With assistance from the Millet Fire Department, RCMP were able to recover the capsized vessel and return it to the owner.
