Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 21 and Range Road 220 at approximately 2:00 p.m. on Feb. 14, 2022.
Upon arrival on scene, RCMP observed a passenger car and a semi tractor trailer fully engulfed in flames.
The driver of the semi sustained minor injuries, however the driver and sole occupant of the passenger vehicle was deceased.
RCMP remained on scene for several hours investigating the cause of the collision. Preliminary investigation reveals that the southbound passenger vehicle crossed over the center line into the path of the northbound semi.
RCMP continue to investigate the fatality.
