Wetaskiwin resident charged with first degree murder wanted on additional charges

Talsa Ashlee Cardinal is wanted by police for various charges

A Wetaskiwin resident out on bail for first-degree murder has now allegedly assaulted a police officer. 

On March 29, 2024, 31-year-old Talsa Ashlee Cardinal, a resident of Wetaskiwin, was released on bail with conditions out of the Edmonton Police Service. The conditions included a 24-hour curfew. 

After Cardinal was allegedly seen breaching her release order on Oct. 19, 2024, police attempted to arrest her for failing to comply with the release order. 

However, she allegedly assaulted the police officer, resisted arrest and fled. 

Cardinal is currently wanted for assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and failing to comply with a release order.

She is described as having brown hair and brown eyes, being five feet, eight inches tall and weighing 145 pounds.

Edmonton police found 33-year-old Travis Cardinal in Eastwood Park on Aug. 11, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was taken to hospital but later died of his injuries. 

Talsa Cardinal and another suspect, Paul Everette Lawrence, 36, were charged with first degree murder.
