In the past two weeks the City of Wetaskiwin’s active COVID-19 cases have grown considerably.
As of the Nov. 30, 2020 COVID-19 number updates from the Government of Alberta, the City of Wetaskiwin has 91 active cases. The City has only has one COVID-19 death.
The County of Wetaskiwin, separated from the City on the Municipality setting on the Government of Alberta’s aggregate data map, has 19 active cases.

Maskwacis Health Services is reporting 124 active COVID-19 cases in Maskwacis.
On Nov. 30 Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw confirmed 1,733 additional COVID-19 cases in Alberta with a positivity rate of 8.4 per cent. Cases in the central zone increased by 137.
There is a lag time between actions & results. COVID-19 has a long incubation period, actions we take today will not be seen for 10-14 days. We must remain more vigilant than ever. We need to bend the curve & lower active cases to protect each other & our healthcare system. (4/9)

Dr. Hinshaw also explained that COVID-19 has a long incubation period and that Albertans must be extra vigilant during this time to try to curve the rising numbers.
