New County of Wetaskiwin Council is sworn in

The County of Wetaskiwin Municipal Election results have been confirmed and made official as of Friday Oct. 22, 2021.

The County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 held elections in three of their seven divisions on election day.

In total there were 1,514 votes cast in the county election.

This term’s County of Wetaskiwin Council includes:

• Division 1- Bill Krahn (incumbent), acclaimed;

• Division 2- Lynn Marie Carwell, elected with 277 votes;

• Division 3- Dale Woitt (incumbent), acclaimed;

• Division 4- Josh Bishop (incumbent), acclaimed;

• Division 5- Ken Adair (incumbent), acclaimed;

• Division 6- Kathy Rooyakkers (incumbent), elected with 248 votes;

• And Division 7- Lyle Seely (incumbent), elected with 257 votes.

All are returning council members except for Carwell who will be taking long-term county councillor, Terry Van de Kraats, seat on council.

Council was sworn in at an organizational meeting on Monday Oct. 25, 2021.
