Well time sure does fly! So much has happened since my last report.

On October 21st, 2017, our club catered the Falun senior supper. At our December meeting we had a delicious potluck. After the meeting and the potluck we enjoyed curling at Lakedell curling rink. On December 16, our club volunteered at the Pigeon Lake Santa’s Elves, doing our part in giving back to community.

Our calf tour was on January 13, 2018. Everybody’s calves are doing well and we are all looking forward to showing them on April 28! We also had a judging workshop at calf tour which helped get our members ready for upcoming judging events. At our January meeting we also had a workshop designed to get our members ready for public speaking. Our club’s public speaking competition was Feb. 2, and everybody did great! We will have members competing at district level, Feb. 23 for seniors and intermediates, Feb. 24 for juniors.

Our annual beef supper was on Jan. 19 and was an enormous success. We raised $1,835 off our highly anticipated pie auction! We would like to thank everyone who supported our club by purchasing a pie. We also have been supported by several other sponsors including B & K Anderson, S&S Jackson, Wetaskiwin Ready Mix and Encompass Credit Union. We would also like to extend a special thanks to FCC Farm Credit for a $500 sponsorship and and Bylaw Foods for a $700 sponsorship. Thank you to all who have supported 4-H in any way, we appreciate it greatly!

We are looking forward to finishing our 4-H year with mini show as well as a fitting and showmanship clinic on March 17. We also look forward to our achievement day on April 28 and our awards night on May 22. All who can come are welcome to attend. We hope to see you soon!
