Another Wetaskiwin liquor store robbery with person pepper sprayed

Another liquor store staff member has been bear sprayed in an armed robbery, according to Wetaskiwin RCMP.

A press release from the Wetaskiwin RCMP Sept. 30 stated, “On September 23, 2019 at approximately 3:15 p.m., two males entered the Super Value Liquor store in Wetaskiwin.

“One of the male’s bear sprayed the clerk and the other male stood at the door to keep it open. The males took two bottles of liquor before departing the store.

“These same males are also suspects in a liquor store theft in Ponoka earlier in the day. The male clerk was transported to hospital via EMS and released.

“Another store clerk and a customer were also affected by the bear spray. Both suspects described as indigenous with medium builds. One suspect was wearing a plaid shirt with two scars on his cheek and mouth area. Other male was described as wearing a black and red hoodie. Suspects left on foot.

“Wetaskiwin City RCMP in conjunction with General Investigation Section are currently investigating matter. The RCMP is seeking assistance in identifying the suspect.
