Wetaskiwin residents came together outside City Hall on June 2 to celebrate the sixth annual Boys and Girls Club (BGC) Club Day.

The Wetaskiwin BGC flag was raised in recognition of the work of BGC clubs across Canada to help children and youth change their lives for good every year.

Community members gathered for a street carnival with games, face painting and cotton candy at the BGC Wetaskiwin Downtown Location

“For over 120 years, BGC Clubs have been creating opportunities for millions of Canadian kids and teens. Our trained staff and volunteers provide programs and services that help young people realize positive outcomes,” said BGC Wetaskiwin administration manager Rebekah Peterson in a statement.

“Here in Wetaskiwin, and in 736 communities from coast to coast, BGC Clubs are doing everything they can to provide opportunities for young people. With the help of the government at all levels, and our many donors and supporters, we will continue to provide everything young people need, now and in the future.”
