I got this recipe from a girl I worked with several years ago.
Ginger Beef
1/2 lb. Lean steak
2 slices carrot (or more)
4 slices (chopped) fresh ginger
1 crumbled dried chili pepper (or more if you like it spicier)
1 minced clove garlic
Sauce:
1/4 c. Vinegar
1 tsp. Sesame oil
1/4 c. Sugar
1 tsp. soya sauce
Batter:
1/2 c. Cornstarch
2 tsp. Oil
1 egg
1/4 c. Water
Cut meat into thin strips. Cut carrots into match sticks. Mince ginger and garlic. Toss beef in batter to coat well. Heat oil and fry beef strips to golden brown. Drain. Fry carrots, ginger, garlic, and chili peppers in hot oil in wok or skillet for 1 min. Add sauce. Add beef and stir until heated through.
