Corpse found in empty Wetaskiwin lot Saturday

According to spokesperson Cst. Holly Porterfield police received a call at 7:45 a.m. Saturday morning about an unconscious male in an empty lot near the Super 8 hotel.

RCMP officers attempted CPR on the man, and an ambulance took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The male, 46, was a resident of Maskwacis. His name was not released by police.

The male’s death is under investigation. Cst. Porterfield did note, however, that “nothing looked suspicious.”
