The County of Wetaskiwin has begun its project to modernize its Land Use Bylaw (LUB) and is going forward with a “comprehensive review” to align with changing demands.
The county says the review is crucial to ensure a “a more efficient, sustainable, and vibrant future” for the community.
“The County of Wetaskiwin is committed to engaging the community throughout the entire process, ensuring that residents have the opportunity to contribute their insights and concerns,” stated a press release.
According to the county, the update is required to address demands and emerging trends and to foster responsible growth and development.
The LUB review and update will be a collaboration between the county, local stakeholders, industry experts and the public, the county stated.
“Our goal is to work together to create a more vibrant, sustainable, and prosperous future for the County of Wetaskiwin,” said Reeve Josh Bishop.
The current LUB was written in 2017 and no longer aligns with the recently adopted Municipal Development Plan.
The county has partnered with V3 Companies of Canada, a local consulting firm, to help draft the new LUB.
