As a result of dry conditions, high winds and no relief in the forecast, Leduc County is now under a fire restriction.
All outdoor fires currently burning must be extinguished immediately and all fire permits are suspended; no fire permits will be issued for the duration of the restriction, as per the Forest and Prairie Protection Act.
It is best to postpone burning in approved burn barrels or fire pits until a significant amount of moisture is received; individuals must use extreme caution if they choose to burn in this manner.
