When we were kids my grandmother used to make a custard like this with macaroni as a quick desert.

Bay Honey Custard Sauce

2 c. whole milk or half and half

4 tbsp. Cornstarch

½ c. honey

2 eggs

3 – 4 bay leaves

1 small cinnamon stick

Combine milk honey cornstarch and eggs. Blend until mixed.

Pour into a heavy sauce pan and add bay leaves and cinnamon stick. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove spices and serve warm.

Orange Bread

2 c. flour

4 tsp. Baking powder

1/2 tsp. Salt

1/2 c. Sugar

3/4 c. Nuts

1 c. Raisins

1 tbsp. Orange rind

1 egg

1 c. Milk or orange juice

2 tbsp. Melted butter or oil

Bake at 350 F. for 50 to 60 mins.

Topping

1/4 c. Orange juice

3/4 c. Sugar

Pour over cake while still warm.
