As information sheets were handed out to each Council member, Trelenberg explained how they had volunteers with hand-held counters strategically placed for accurate counting. “We are giving you these so you are up to speed on the traffic on these roads,” said Trelenberg, “this has been a multi-jurisdictional thing for so long, anything we can do to push this thing forward, we want to help,” referring to redevelopment of the Beaumont corridor to increase safety and accommodate traffic levels.

- The Alberta Utilities Commission has delivered its decision that Leduc County will refund money collected from rate payers during 2006-07 for the use of the NorthEast Pigeon Lake (NEPL) wastewater dumping facility. A flat fee of one hundred dollars was collected from rate payers for the five months they would use the service, and in 2007, those who used the facility were charged $530 for the year. A bylaw was passed the following year, 2008, that allowed the wastewater service for a fee that the County would collect from tax payers.
When fees increased due to upgrades, the County set up a tiered system in which those who used the facility more often paid more, but rate payers began to complain that the tiered system wasn’t fair, as those with smaller tanks are forced to dump wastewater more often.
- When it was discovered that the County did not have the authority to collect fees for wastewater disposal without enacting a bylaw to do so first. Thus, the County should not have collected money from ratepayers in 2006 and 2007. The AUC relayed their decision to County Council that rate payers should be reimbursed for any amounts paid for wastewater disposal in 2006-07. Refunds paid out will total over $150,000
