Wetaskiwin RCMP are investigating an armed robbery that involved an alleged assault in the city July 17.
According to Wetaskiwin RCMP spokesperson Cst. Shaun Marchand, “On July 17, 2019, at approximately 7 p.m. Wetaskiwin RCMP received a complaint of an armed robbery that occurred at the Gentlemen’s Liquor Store in Wetaskiwin.
“Two suspects robbed the Gentlemen’s Liquor Store using bear spray stealing at least one bottle of liquor. A female store clerk was bear sprayed multiple times and pushed during the robbery.
“The female store clerk was treated by EMS and released. A second store clerk was present but not injured.
“One male suspect was wearing a grey sweater with black arms and a black line down the hood. The second male was wearing a two tone grey sweater. Bottom half of sweater grey, top half dark in color with a backpack and hat. Suspects left on foot in unknown direction.
“Wetaskiwin City RCMP in conjunction with General Investigation Section are currently investigating matter. The RCMP is seeking assistance in identifying the suspect(s).
