Maskwacis reporting 37 active cases

Maskwacis Health Services (MHS) reported 37 active cases and one death in Maskwacis as of Monday, Oct. 19. Of those numbers, two active cases reside in Ermineskin Cree Nation.

There have been 61 total cases since March, 2020, and 23 cases have recovered.

MHS is urging members to wear a mask, discourage visitors and to only travel when it’s essential.

Mobile testing started this morning at the Maskwacis Ambulance.

According to the Government of Alberta geospatial map, which was last updated on Oct. 18. there are 48 active cases for Wetaskiwin County (Maskwacis) when set on the “Local geographic area,” zero active cases in Ponoka (East County Ponoka), and one for Rimbey (West Ponoka County and partial Lacombe County).
