Maskwacis suspect faces 13 charges after stolen vehicle found in Wetaskiwin

A Maskwacis suspect is facing a number of serious weapons charges after police allegedly located a stolen vehicle in Wetaskiwin.

According to Wetaskiwin RCMP spokesperson Cst. Shaun Marchand, “On September 19th, 2019, at approximately 9 p.m., the Wetaskiwin RCMP Crime Reduction Unit with the assistance of the Wetaskiwin RCMP located a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Wetaskiwin Motel. The vehicle was originally stolen from a break and enter in Calgary.

“A lone male was arrested at the scene and a loaded firearm and a can of OC spray were located.

“Rainbow Saddleback, 33, of Maskwacis, AB has been arrested and charged with the following:

· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

· Careless transportation of a firearm

· Carrying a concealed weapon

· Carrying a concealed firearm

· Possession of a prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized

· Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

· Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon in a motor vehicle

· Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle

· Possession of a firearm in contravention of a prohibition order

· Possession of ammunition in contravention of a prohibition order

· Possession of a prohibited weapon in contravention of a prohibition order

· Operate a motor vehicle with no licence

· Operate an uninsured motor vehicle

“Saddleback was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was released on $4,000 no cash recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on October 10, 2019.
