Maskwacis youth found dead on reserve

The case of a missing Maskwacis youth has made a tragic turn as RCMP are now investigating a death.

According to a June 25 press release from RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jon Cormier, “On June 25, 2019, the body of Houston Omeasoo was located on Maskwacis. The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit (MCU) are investigating his death as suspicious.

“No further details are available at this time. An update will be provided when more information becomes available.”

Anyone who has any information about Omeasoo’s death should contact Maskwacis RCMP immediately.

Background

Maskwacis RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 16-year old Houston Omeasoo. Omeasoo was last seen in the area of the Samson First Nation in Maskwacis on June 21, 2019, in the late hours of the evening. It is believed that he may be in the Maskwacis or surrounding area.

Houston Omeasoo is described as:

· 5’8” tall

· 110 lbs

· First Nations

· Brown eyes

· Medium length dyed red hair

· Last seen wearing a red shirt, red “Fox” hat, Black “Fox” sweater, brown cargo pants and no shoes.
