‘Meet in the Millet’ is major chamber meeting Sept. 7

Multiple chambers will hear three levels of government updates

A major Wetaskiwin Chamber of Commerce luncheon coming up Sept. 7 will actually include much more than just Wetaskiwin.

The annual “Meet in the Millet” regional chamber of commerce luncheon will be held in the Millet Agriplex and will include chambers from across the region, a delicious luncheon and updates from all three levels of government.

Not only will the guest speakers be informative, the chance to network with business owners and dignitaries from across the region will be impressive. Those attending include the Wetaskiwin, Leduc, Millet and Calmar plus the counties. Sponsor greetings will be given by City of Wetaskiwin Mayor Tyler Gandam, County of Wetaskiwin Reeve Kathy Rooyakkers, Town of Millet Mayor Tony Wadsworth, Town of Calmar Mayor Wally Yachimetz, City of Leduc Mayor Bob Young and Leduc County Mayor Tanni Doblanko.

Updates from provincial and federal elected officials will also be made by Minister of Municipal Affairs and MLA Shaye Anderson, MLA Bruce Hinkley, MLA Mark Smith and Mike Lake, MP for Edmonton-Wetaskiwin.

Meet in the Millet will be held at the Millet Agriplex located at 5290 45 Ave (Sec. Hwy. #616). Tickets are available from the Leduc/Wetaskiwin Chamber and are $30 for members, $40 for non-member. Call 780-986-5454 for more information.

According to the Wetaskiwin Chamber of Commerce press release, “As the 50/50 beneficiary, the Millet Community Food Bank will be on-site collecting food donations. ” So members should remember to bring a non-perishable food item, or a bag full would be even better.
