Millet Lions hosting major club event this summer

A major Lions Club event will be hosted in Millet this coming June, attracting members from across Alberta.

The Multiple District C Lions Cavalcade for Diabetes Awareness will be hosted June 15 to 17 by the Millet and District Lions Club. Lions Club members from Alberta, Northern BC and the NWT have all been invited.

The major event will be the Saturday, June 16 parade, which starts at 2 p.m. It runs from the Millet Lions Memorial campground to the Millet Lions Family Hall. The local Lions invite all groups, organizations and individuals from Millet and the surrounding area to participate in the parade.

The Millet Lions will also be holding s clothing drive. They’re asking for donations of clean, gently-used clothing and proceeds will be donated to Juvenile Diabetes camps in Alberta.

The donations can be given to any Millet Lions Club member or brought to the Lions family hall on Friday evenings between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
