As a result of dry conditions, high winds, and no relief in the forecast, Leduc County is now under a Fire Restriction. Leduc County fire guardians are prohibited from issuing fire permits, and all fire permits previously issued are suspended, as per the Forest and Prairie Protection Act.
All outdoor fires burning at the time of the restriction’s issuance are to be immediately extinguished, and individuals must use extreme caution when using burn barrels or fire pits.
Leduc County fire officials will continue to monitor the situation, and will update the public when conditions improve.
