Exhibit and sale for Pigeon Lake Artists Society

Art lovers, collectors and those interested in talented Pigeon Lake artists should mark Saturday, June 30 on their calendars. That’s the date for the Pigeon Lake Artists Society annual exhibit and sale at the Village at Pigeon Lake.

Member and spokesperson Margot Soltice said this well-established society has a deep membership who work and create in many different disciplines.

The annual exhibit and sale will feature 10 members of the society, plus two guests artists. Feature artist for the weekend is Dale Shutterworth, who works in watercolours. The exhibit will be large enough to fill two rooms at the Village Creek Country Inn.

Soltice said the summer beauty of Pigeon Lake strongly compliments the annual exhibit and sale.

The exhibit and sale offers the full gamut of disciplines enjoyed by members of the society, including watercolours, watercolours with pen and ink, acrylics, fiber art, pottery, painted tiles and much more.

Exhibitors include:

Ken and Betty Alberg: Black Bear Pottery

Donna Brunner: with Purple Finch Studio. Acrylic painting, pottery, rug hooking (fibre art), encaustics

Gail Fairwell: Water colour paintings

Judy Hauge: Water colour paintings, painted tiles

Marcia Schmidt: Acrylic paintings

Dale Shuttleworth (feature artist): watercolour paintings

Margot Soltice: Water colour with pen and ink, pottery

Penny Stokes: Water colour paintings

Nancy Strandquist: water colour paintings

Plus, two guest artists:

July Anne Hage: sculpture

Willie Wong: watercolour painting

Everything at the exhibit is also for sale, and all artists and creators will be present to speak with guests. Soltice said it’s a great chance to get to know these creators more intimately and learn more about what they’re currently working on, and what they are planning for the future.

There is no charge to get into the exhibit and sale, and there will be light refreshments available.

For those not familiar with Pigeon Lake, the Village is located on Hwy. #13 about 25 kilometers west of Hwy. #2.
