POLICE ISSUE WARNING TO THE PUBLIC

Pipestone Flyer

The Thorsby/Breton RCMP Detachment responded to two separate incidents over the weekend involving the rescue of several members of the public from the unpredictable high waters of the North Saskatchewan River.  Several fire department personnel from four separate fire and rescue departments were also involved.  In order for the members of the public to be rescued one situation required the services of a private helicopter firm.

The RCMP is advising and requesting everyone to stay away from the shores of the North Saskatchewan  River and others rivers and streams in the area for any reason until the water levels subside and the rains stop. The water is very unpredictable at this time and can be very dangerous to the public.
