The Town of Rimbey has an opportunity to be host to Big Valley Jamboree’s Small Town Saturday Night coming up next year.
The concert is to be headlined by Canadian country music artist Gord Bamford as well as a songwriter’s circle performance.
Big Valley’s Master of Ceremonies is to be Danny Hooper.
Rimbey is among more than 200 Alberta communities who are eligible to win the contest.
It all depends on votes.

The voters will be te deciding factor as to who will capture the title of Big Valley amboree Small Town Saturday Night.
Mayor Rick Pankiw said the mini Big Valley Jamboree will be awarded to some rural Alberta community and it could very well be Rimbey.
“You never know,” he said. “As a small community we seem to band together for something like this.”
If Rimbey wins, The Rimbey Boys and Girls Club is to be the primary recipient of ticket sales and the Rimbey Agrim Centre is to be the main venue for the event. Proceeds from the beer gardens will go to the Rimbey Ag Society and proceeds from a 50/50 draw (if held) will be split between the two groups.
The deadline for entries is Jan. 20. The winning community will be announced on March 28 and the grand prize concert will take place on April 29.
The grand prize winning community and video team will be profiled at the 2017 Big Valley Jamboree.
