Board ward review

The board received its consultant’s report regarding a Board Electoral Ward Review as information. The board will discuss the report and recommendation in greater detail at a special board meeting January 5, 2017 at 7 p.m. in Leduc.

Father Lacombe value scoping

The board reviewed the Government of Alberta’s Value Scoping report for Father Lacombe Catholic School. The option of modernizing Father Lacombe Catholic School emerged as the preferred alternative and will be part of the board’s ongoing capital plan advocacy.

Divisional chaplaincy

The board provided direction to the superintendent with regards to options for a new divisional chaplaincy initiative.

High school busing survey

The board provided direction with regards to initiating a high school busing survey of several STAR Catholic communities currently without a high school.

Budget expenditures

The board reviewed information regarding key expenditures related to its Key Board Priorities.

Meetings with local MLAs

The board received confirmation of meetings with local provincial government and opposition MLAs set for early in 2017.

ASBA Strategic Planning

The board provided input into the Alberta School Board’s Association strategic plan, commencing September 2017.
