Thorsby RCMP investigate break and enter to Kollbrook Esso

At 2:02 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2022, Thorsby RCMP received a complaint of an alarm at the Kollbrook Esso in Thorsby. Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed that an unoccupied pick up truck was inside the Esso.

At 2:02 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2022, Thorsby RCMP received a complaint of an alarm at the Kollbrook Esso in Thorsby. Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed that an unoccupied pick up truck was inside the Esso.

The pick up truck had been driven through the front doors and had been reported as stolen from the Drayton Valley area on Dec. 30, 2021.

RCMP believe that the unknown suspect(s) were attempting to steal the ATM inside the business.

In October 2019, the same Esso was broken into and its ATM stolen. As a result of an investigation by the Thorsby RCMP in this crime, Travis Shane Stout, 33, and Collin Ray McDonald, 31, both of Edmonton, were charged and convicted of possession of property obtained by crime.

For the break and enter that occurred Jan. 2, 2022, Thorsby RCMP are asking the public’s assistance for any information in solving this crime or locating those responsible. Please contact Thorsby RCMP at 780-789-3950 or your local police.
