Three assailants attack victims outside Ponoka home

One person has been arrested and RCMP are seeking an arrest warrant for another suspect after a Ponoka homeowner was threatened with a firearm.

On May 23, Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of an assault at a Ponoka residence. Their investigation determined that three suspects assaulted the residents of the home outside of the dwelling. At one point, a firearm was pointed at the homeowner.

Media relations officer Cpl. Troy Savinkoff said the victims were checked by EMS for minor injuries and released.

Maskwacis RCMP located a vehicle that was involved in the incident at a residence in Ermineskin Cree Nation.

Randy Kale Potts, 31, of Maskwacis was arrested and charged with five firearms offences, two counts of break and enter, uttering threats and two counts of assault with a weapon.

Potts was taken before a justice and released on conditions with her next court appearance set for June 24, at Ponoka Provincial Court.

Sunny Don Threefingers, 33, of Maskwacis is now wanted by police in relation to the incident. He is described as: medium complexion, 5’7”, 170 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.

Ponoka RCMP are looking to identify other suspects involved.
