Warburg UFA commemorates Farmers’ Day

Warburg UFA makes generous donation for Farmers' Day

GENEROSITY - Warburg UFA Manager Shelly Soderquist presented the cheque to Leslie Nemeth

Warburg UFA celebrated Farmers’ Day June 12 in style with a BBQ and a donation presentation of a cheque for $333.33 to Warburg Pioneer Agriculture Society.

Warburg UFA Manager Shelly Soderquist presented the cheque to Leslie Nemeth, Ag Society vice president, who accepted the cheque on behalf of the Ag Society.

$333.33 is a unique amount. Is there any significance to it? Soderquist said local UFA Agent Mike Monteith split a generous UFA $1,000 donation equally between his three UFA locations in Buck Lake, Drayton Valley and Warburg.

Nemeth said the donation will be used to help defray about half the expense for bringing in the Zoo 2 You mobile exhibit during the upcoming Warburg Heritage Days celebration.  The Heritage Days activities will be held this coming June 27 and 28.

Zoo 2 You is a mobile, little-hands-on interactive and educational experience with various animal species. The mobile zoo will be featured on day two—Sunday, June 28—at the Picnic in the Park event.
