It has been almost a decade since any Wetaskiwin Minor Hockey team hosted provincial championships and the Wetaskiwin Dyck Insurance Ice Kings are looking forward to holding the tournament.

The 2018 Hockey Alberta Midget B Provincial Championships will take place March 22 to 25 at the Wetaskiwin Civic Centre Twin Arenas.

Along with the Ice Kings, nine other top teams from around the province will also be competing in the provincial championships. As of Feb. 21 the High Prairie Zone 1 champions and the Barrhead Zone 3 champions had qualified for the Midget B Provincials.

The Wetaskiwin Dyck Insurance Ice Kings currently lead its Midget Tier 2 division; 14-5-2. The Ice Kings are an extremely well-balanced team. The team sits with 30 points, the most goals scored at 105 and the least goals scored against with 64. Full standings can be seen at http://www.nainterlock.com/division/104/2551/standings.
