Parking lot and sidewalk construction

Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools will undertake an expansion/reconfiguration of the parking lot at Early Education & Family Wellness Center (EEFWC). In addition, the City of Wetaskiwin has plans to construct sidewalks on 56 Avenue adjacent to the EEFWC.

Construction of the sidewalk along EEFWC is scheduled to be completed during the summer of 2018 and is estimated to cost $28,000. The board of trustees has agreed to partner with the City of Wetaskiwin and contribute 50 per cent of the cost for the sidewalk.

The City of Wetaskiwin has indicated that they are willing to work with WRPS to ensure any changes to the sidewalk and access to the parking lot meet both organization’s needs.

Locally developed courses

The board of trustees approved the acquisition of two locally developed courses, Understanding Video Games which was developed by Parkland School Division and the Film and Media Studies developed by the Calgary Board of Education. Both courses will be used for the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year.
