Wetaskiwin RCMP arrest one male after shots fired

At 8:38 a.m. on January 18, RCMP received a report of possible shot fired at a residence in the Millet area of 48 street and 51 Avenue. Police attended and located a bullet hole in the front window of the residence.

Neighbours advised between the hours of 03:00 a.m. and 03:30 a.m. they possibly heard sound of glass breaking and possibly a gun shot. Damage was also noted to a window and a door with forced entry to the residence. A bullet was located inside the residence. The victims were believed to be in the residence during the incident but no one was injured and RCMP continue to investigate and to look for witnesses.

Following an extensive investigation a suspect was later located and arrested without incident. The gun involved is believed to have been recovered. The suspect and victims are known to each other.

The names and charges against the male arrested will not be released as the charges have not been sworn before the courts.
