Wetaskiwin RCMP execute search warrant, recover stolen property

Firearms, $100,000 worth of stolen property recovered

The Wetaskiwin RCMP executed a search warrant on a rural property earlier in November, resulting in numerous charges.

Over $100,000 worth of stolen property was recovered in the search executed Nov. 10 by the Wetaskiwin Crime Reduction Unit, with assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team, Wetaskiwin General Investigations Section, and Wetaskiwin RCMP.

In addition, 15 firearms were recovered, including some which had been stolen from residential and commercial properties.

Other stolen property recovered at the property includes vehicles and holiday trailers.

Five individuals were arrested at the property, and all face multiple charges.

Sean Greenwall, 39, of Wetaskiwn has been charged with Possession of a weapon contrary to order, failure to comply with release order, multiple charges of possession of property obtained by crime, unsafe storage of a firearm, multiple charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon, multiple charges of unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition, and multiple charges of a weapon obtained by crime.

Barry Manion,60, of Wetaskiwin, has been charged with multiple charges of possession of property obtained by crime, unsafe storage of a firearm, multiple charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon, multiple charges of unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition, and multiple charges of possession of a weapon obtained by crime.

Al Strong, 41, of Leduc, has been charged with possession of a weapon contrary to order, multiple charges of possession of property obtained by crime, unsafe storage of a firearm, multiple charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon, multiple charges of unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition, and multiple charges of possession of a weapon obtained by crime.

Darlene Arnold, 43, of Wetaskiwin, is charged with multiple charges of possession of property obtained by crime, unsafe storage of a firearm, multiple charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon, multiple charges of unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition, and multiple charges of possession of a weapon obtained by crime.

Finally, Jennifer Eglinski, 35, of Wetaskiwin, is charged with multiple charges of possession of property obtained by crime, unsafe storage of a firearm, multiple charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon, multiple charges of possession of a weapon obtained by crime.

Once charged, all five individuals were brought before a Justice of the Peace.

Strong was remanded into custody.

Greenwall was initially remanded, but later released on $500 cash bail.

Arnold and Manion were each released on a $1000 promise-to-pay release order.

Eglinski was released on a $3000 promise-to-pay release order.

The five will be back in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on Dec. 2.
