Wetaskiwin restaurant robbed, two men arrested

Wetaskiwin RCMP respond to armed robbery, two males arrested

On February 24th, 2018 Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to an armed robbery at Cosmic Pizza. Two males had entered Cosmic Pizza with knives and attempted to gain money and cell phones.

Police attended Cosmic Pizza but the two males had left the location.

While police were on scene the two males returned to the location outside. Both males attempted to flee. One suspect was arrested close to the location. The second suspect was located at a residence not far from the location. No one was injured in the robbery and no cash or items were stolen.

The first suspect, Curtis RAINE (28) from Maskwacis, was charged with the following offences:

· Possession of weapon for dangerous Purpose

· Robbery.

He was remanded into custody and is to appear in court on Tuesday February 27th, 2018 in Wetaskiwin.

The second suspect, Ty BEARHAT (23) from Siksika Nation, was charged with the following offences:

· Possession of weapon for dangerous Purpose

· Robbery.

· Resist/Obstruct Peace officer X2.

He was remanded into custody and is to appear in court on Tuesday February 27th, 2018 in Wetaskiwin.
