Looking for that that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13)
Adena Smith Forth of Millet, Alberta was born October 1, 1925 (potato picking time) in Wolyn, Poland and came to Canada with her parents in 1928.
She grew up in the Millet area and attended Wiesenthal Baptist Church with her family. In November of 1936 she accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour and was baptised in the Pipestone Creek in 1937.
On November 10, 1943 she married Ralph Andrew Smith also from the Millet area. Together they had three sons, Robert, Philip and Jimmy. Many of her activities revolved around church and the farm. She played in the church orchestra alongside her husband.
After almost 41 years of marriage, Ralph passed away on August 30, 1984. Adena was remarried on January 13, 1989 to Rudolph Forth who was from the Wetaskiwin area. Twenty two years later Rudolph would also pass away on July 17, 2011.
Adena is survived by her two sons, Philip (Hilda) Smith, Jimmy (Heather) Smith; five grandchildren, Andrew (Jen) Smith, their children, Shailene, Ethan and Dylan; Bonnie (Ryan) Snowden, their children Korbyn, Cayson and Camden; Kristen Smith; Wesley (Leanne) Smith, their children, Sonora, Erik, Jack, Virginia and Brooke; Nicholas (Emily) Smith, their children Riana and Tristan.
She was predeceased by her parents, Kris and Wilhelmina Ertman; husband, Ralph Smith; husband, Rudolph Forth; and son, Robert (Bob) Smith.
Adena was greatly loved and will be sadly missed but we have great joy in knowing that she is with her Saviour Jesus Christ.
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Wetaskiwin Hospital, Peace hills Lodge in Wetaskiwin, Northcott Centre in Ponoka and the Good Shepherd Home in Wetaskiwin. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to Bearing Precious Seed - Care of Vision Baptiste Church - Leduc.
