On April 20, 2018 Deborah King of Westerose, AB passed away at the age of 93 years.

Deb was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. on March 17, 1925, the second child of Benjamin Franklin Avery and Mary Adelaide Stone Avery.

Deb graduated from Fort William Collegiate Institute and attended the University of Toronto for a year before entering the School of Fashion Design, Boston where she obtained her Diploma.

She married Harold "Bud " King July 1, 1947. Their partnership was a study in living, loving and learning together. They lived in several communities throughout their married life. Deb was a leader in youth, women's and church groups wherever she lived. She identified with only that which was positive. Each day was a day to get busy and get at it.

Pre deceased by her husband of 63 years, she is lovingly remembered by her children, Avery (Marilyn), Joan (Jim), Deb (David), Jonathan (Loretta), Margaret (Todd); eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; sister Mary Taylor Smith .

People of the Lakedell, Westerose and Mameo Beach Communities will remember Deb as the welcoming presence for years at Westerose Nursery and Greenhouse which she and Bud established in 1978.

A funeral service and time of remembrance will be held at First United Church, Wetaskiwin, Monday, May 14 at 1:00pm.

In Deb's memory, donations to the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation (Long Term Care ) - air beds will be gratefully accepted.
