Honouring the life of Dr. Hal Kluczny ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hal Kluczny, of Millet, Alberta, on January 9, 2022. Hal fought his battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy,
a Parkinson's Plus Syndrome, with courage for many years.
Left to cherish his memory are Sheila, his wife of 42 years; his son, Aaron, and daughter, Miriam; brother, Jim (Connie) and sister, Michelle (Brian) as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Hal had a distinguished career in education over 38 years. He began his career as a classroom teacher, then moved into many roles in administration at the school level; in the County of Wetaskiwin Central Office, and then as the Superintendent of Schools for Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools.
As a lifelong learner, Hal was very proud to complete and achieve his Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Alberta in 1998.
He was also active in the provincial educational scene and was the President of the College of Alberta Schools Superintendents from 2001-2002. Although he officially retired in 2004, he continued to work until 2015 for Alberta Education, and then doing part-time contract work.
Hal was a loving and supportive father in his children's lives. He enjoyed all sports especially hockey and ball. He also had fond memories of playing guitar in many dfferent bands.
