Evelyn Dora Henke

It is with sadness that we share the passing of Evelyn Dora Henke, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Evelyn was born at Bruce, Alberta on April 26, 1925 to John and Elsie Minchau. She was the fifth of eight children. Evelyn passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022 at the age of 97 years.
Remembering her with love are her daughter, Joan (Neil) Stone; son, Ronald (Donna) Henke; six grandchildren, Michelle (Jason) Finnigan, Michael (Chelsea) Henke, Nathan (Lynn) Stone, Darren (Beth) Stone, Brent (Jenna) Henke and Paula Henke; six great grandchildren, Logan, Kassidy, Brooklynn, Quintin, Kip and Wyatt. She will be remembered by her sisters, Violet Bretin and Marlene Herbrik; brother, Edwin Minchau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Alvin; son, Gary; parents, John and Elsie Minchau; brother, Reuben Minchau; sisters, Mabel Henke, Alice Gibbs; and an infant brother.
The family extends its gratitude to Dr. J. Tam, Dr. Vander Walt, Dr. Berry and the nursing staff on Unit 43 Wetaskiwin Hospital & Care Center, for the kindness, care and compassion she received.
A Memorial Service took place on October 29, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church. In memory of Evelyn, donations are gratefully accepted to Zion Lutheran Church, Wetaskiwin, the Wetaskiwin Health Foundation - Palliative Care, or to the charity of ones choice.
