It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernard Garry Hooper on May 19, 2025, at the age of 92. Garry is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Shirley; granddaughters, Lisa (Mike) Croft, Tammie (Matt) Nicol; his seven cherished great-grandchildren; sister, Gilaine (Bob) Porter. He was predeceased by his father, Lyndon; mother, Lorna; brothers, Don and Lorne; and his beloved wife, Josephine.
Garry lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and love. He had a deep passion for the outdoors—spending countless joyful hours fishing, water skiing, snowmobiling, and enjoying bonfires at the lake. Above all, he adored his faithful service dogs, Tasha, Scoobie, and Ernie, who brought him years of loyal companionship.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Ma-Me-O Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations in Garry's memory may be made to the Pigeon Lake Lions Club, a cause close to his heart. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
