In loving memory ~
Glen Michael Stone of Wetaskiwin peacefully passed away on October 23, 2023, after a brave battle with cancer for over 3 years at the age of 79. Glen was born in Wetaskiwin. He was the oldest of three children to Wilma and Edward Stone. Glen was raised on the family farm at Westerose with his brother Neil and sister Carol. He met the love of his life Donna in 1965 and soon after married in 1966. They lived for a short time in the city of Wetaskiwin before purchasing their farm in 1972. Glen and Donna welcomed their first daughter Michelle in 1974 and soon after their second daughter Nicol in 1976. Over the years, Glen operated and partnered in many successful business ventures starting with Midwest Propane, Sun Trucking, Loons Golf Course, Blue Vista Apartments and of course his beloved Farm! In amongst it all he also ran a school bus and was a dedicated 4H Leader for many years. Glen was an ambitious man who was constantly on the move, yet always had time for anyone. He had a strong work ethic that led him to much success. In 2007 Glen and Donna purchased their winter home in Nuevo Vallarta where they spent most winters together. Glen could be found still finding work to do around the condo and never was without a project on the go! Together they loved their time in Mexico and had a great community of friendships there. Of all that he had achieved and built throughout his life, Glen's family was what gave him the most joy. From watching his two girls grow and take on independence of their own to becoming a grandfather, Glen's greatest days were those spent with his family. He was very proud of all his grandkids in their many endeavours. He was always there to support them and share his advise and guidance. Glen will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years Donna, his daughter Michelle (Scott) of Ponoka and grandchildren Coby, Macy, Brock, and Bode, and son-in-law Evan Leimert of West Kelowna. Glen was predeceased by his father Edward Stone, mother Wilma Stone, sister Carol Normandeau, special aunt Edna Edge and his daughter Nicol Stone-Leimert. Glen was a friend to all and will surely be missed by countless friends and extended family. A private celebration of life will be held for Glen on his birthday this spring. If friends of the family so wish, donations can be made on Glen's behalf to S.T.A.R.S.
