John Dyck was born in Schoenwiese, Saskatchewan to George and Aganetha Dyck on April 16, 1928 and entered into eternal rest with his Lord and Savior October 15, 2024 at the age of 96.
John was one of nine children, four sisters and four brothers. Life was different and hard in those days and part of John's life was living in a sod brick house built by his family.
John fell in love with and married the love of his life, Marjorie in November of 1949. They were blessed with two daughters Cheryl Diane and Marcia Gale. They spent the first 15 years of their married life in Saskatchewan.
In 1964, 'lock, stock and barrel', they moved and began creating John's dream of farming in Westerose, Alberta. In 2016 they retired from the farm and moved to a condo in Wetaskiwin.
John is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Satre (Roger), and Marcia Schmidt (Marvin); grandchildren, Brenda Edgar (Marlin), Brent Satre (Shauna); great-grandchildren, Tiara (Jesse), Mackenna, Regan, Deklan and Corbin; and one great-great-grandchild, Harper Marjorie Lynn; younger sister, Mary Dyck; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie in 2017; brothers, George, Peter, Diedrick and Jakie; sisters, Agnes, Tena and Justine.
